La centralina elettronica è basata sul un microprocessore della famiglia PIC della Microchip ( pic16c73 )

Durante la realizzazione è stata prevista una porta seriale da poter utilizzare per applicazioni future... questa porta è stata poi utilizzata per interfacciare la centralina ad una ulteriore scheda elettronica che "prende" i dati via rs232 e li restituisce in formato WEB su un'uscita ethernet.

La scheda in questione è basata sul webserver embedded "Siteplayer" della Netmedia; essa è ben visibile in figura nella parte alta dell'immagine... risulta ben visibile anche il cavo di rete ethernet.

Il modulino della Netmedia è un webserver a tutti gli effetti, munito di un proprio indirizzo IP ; esso e' in grado di restituire una pagina html dinamica in funzione delle variabili lette attraverso la porta seriale.

Nella propria rete locale è sufficiente configurare il router adsl o isdn per dirottare le chiamate web ( porta 80 ) sull'indirizzo privato della scheda Siteplayer... e il gioco è fatto; basta aprire una connessione internet presso l'indirizzo assegnato dinamicamente dal provider al router durante la connessione, per vedere la pagina HTML prodotta dal siteplayer.

Dato che l'indirizzo assegnato alle connessioni domestiche è di norma dinamico, è possibile assegnare un nome e/o dominio internet al dispositivo, solamente attraverso società di gestione dinamica del DNS.

The control unit is based on a microprocessor of the PIC family from Microchip (pic16c73).
During the development has been inserted a serial port for future applications; afterwards this serial port has been used for interfacing the control unit to another electronic board that picks-up data from the RS232 and send them on the Web through an ethernet link.

This board is based on an embedded webserver called "Siteplayer" from Netmedia; this board is well visible in the top part of the picture. Well visible also the ethernet cable.
The tiny module from Netmedia is a real webserver, with its own IP address. It can serve a dynamic web page built with variables read through the serial port.
On the local area netwotk it's easy to configure the ADSL or ISDN router in order to route the web calls (port 80) to the private network address of the Siteplayer board.
Then is sufficient to point the web browser to the internet address dinamically assigned by the ISP to see the HTML web page produced by the Siteplayer.
Since the address assigned by ISP's is usually dynamic, it's possible to assign a domain name to the device only
thanks to a company that manages dynamic DNS services.
